Recently, several team members from across the company spent the day at City of Refuge for a day of service.
After a few meetings in the morning, the team got to work helping with some projects on campus.
"We rely on partners like Georgia Natural Gas to bring light, hope and transformation to Atlanta's Westside," said Katie Monson, City of Refuge Volunteer and Donor Relations Manager. "The group that served on City of Refuge's campus on March 23rd did just that. They helped us put the final touches on our men's housing program, The 345, in preparation for men to move in in the coming months. They also helped update a room in our women's housing program for a current resident, moving out old furniture and moving in new furniture. Our resident was blown away when she walked in her room later that afternoon and the transformation that happened in a short amount of time. We could not have done any of that without you all. Thank you!"
The group ended the day with a tour of the campus to learn about the different resources the organization provides to their residents and the surrounding area.
In addition to the projects that day, GNG donated $40,000 to the organization to help fund the work they do in the Atlanta community.
City of Refuge has been helping individuals and families transition out of crisis in Atlanta for the last 25 years.
