$2.5 Million in Grants Available for Eligible Natural Gas Customers
December 18, 2025
As winter approaches, natural gas customers are looking for every opportunity to make sure their heating systems and wallets are ready for the colder weather. To assist those who are struggling to meet these needs, the Georgia Public Service Commission has approved public assistance grants for those who meet the eligibility requirements.
$2 million has been released from the Universal Service Fund to HopeWorks Emergency Low-Income Program for Seniors (“HELPS”), a non-profit that assists low-income seniors with repairs or replacements for their natural gas furnaces and water heaters.
An additional $500,000 was released to support The Salvation Army Project SHARE, which provides financial emergency assistance to individuals and families facing a temporary crisis that threatens their home.
